Celebrities Step It Up on DWTS Latin Night
Two celebrities in particular showed incredible improvement after last week’s premiere. The first was Tyson Beckford, who danced the Salsa with his partner Jenna Johnson. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called it a “dance glow-up.” The pair earned a combined score of 18 out of 30, which was six points above last week.
Later, Alyson Hannigan challenged herself to bring the passion to a Tango routine with her partner Sasha Farber. Afterward, Inaba called her “a woman empowered,” and Derek Hough said it was “night and day from last week.” The pair earned a score of 19, which was also six points higher than the premiere.
However, this week’s leaderboard was dominated by two celebrities in particular. First, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy danced a high-energy Salsa that had Inaba comparing Xochitl to Rita Moreno. Bruno Tonioli said it was “so hot, I’m melting.” They earned a score of 24, the highest of the season so far.
Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach matched that score with their Rumba, which Inaba called “exceptional,” particularly for the second week of the competition. She praised their storytelling. The pair also earned a score of 24.

Jamie Lynn Spears, Alan Bersten Are Eliminated
Voting was open during the show, and the votes from DWTS viewers at home were combined with the judges’ scores to determine which pair would be going home.
At the end of the night, hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough announced that the Bottom 2 were Adrian Peterson and his partner Britt Stewart, and Jamie Lynn Spears and her partner Alan Bersten. Neither of these pairs had the lowest judges’ score.
However, they have arguably been the most controversial celebrities involved in this season, as fans have called out Adrian for his child abuse charges and sided with Jamie Lynn’s sister Britney in their feud. Ultimately, Jamie Lynn and Alan were announced as the eliminated couple. Their Cha Cha earned a score of 16, which was higher than Adrian and Britt’s 15 for the Samba.
Derek Hough called Jamie Lynn’s elimination a “shocker.” What do you think? Did she deserve to go home? Was it less about her dancing and more about viewers objecting to her appearance on the show? Let us know in the comments below.
