Carrie Ann Inaba Undergoes Emergency Appendectomy
On March 30, Inaba posted on Instagram that she had recently undergone an emergency appendectomy. She included a video featuring various clips from her hospital stay and encouraged fans to take their pain seriously.
Inaba said she experienced “sudden and violent vomiting that knocked me off my feet,” followed by pain in her abdomen. As she explained, “when you have autoimmune disease, you are often having strange health occurrences that no one can explain or help you with so sometimes, you try to wait it out, like I did.”
Inaba said she was wrong to wait so long, telling fans, “If you have pain in your abdomen, please have it checked out because it could be something very serious.”
This isn’t the first health scare Inaba has had in recent months. Back in December, the judge shared that she fractured her rib while building furniture and had to visit urgent care.

Inaba said she’s been going through a cycle where she’s “up for four hours” and then “zonked out.” She said she’s “decided to just surrender to it” to help herself heal, adding that people’s positive messages are also helping.
“I’ve been resting and thinking about things and will be sharing more about my journey,” Inaba wrote in the post’s caption. “So it might help someone else know the signs so they can seek treatment immediately and not make the same mistake I did.”
