Dancing With The Stars judge Bruno Tonioli will allegedly take over David Walliams’ seat in Britain’s Got Talent. This puts Tonioli in the waiting game with Alan Carr who’s also running for a judging position in the series.

Bruno Tonioli is a Potential Replacement of David Walliams in BGT

It turns out that comedian Alan Carr is not the only option for BGT in filling the empty seat left by Walliams. Tonioli, who lost his place in the Strictly judging panel last year, is reportedly being pursued by the franchise to serve as judge in its upcoming season. According to an insider, Tonioli would bring a “wealth of experience” should he accept the position.

“Signing up Bruno would be seen as a huge coup for Simon as he was always seen as a favorite on Strictly with his ostentatious style,” the source said. “Bringing some of that hilarious magic across to BGT would help fill the big shoes left behind by comic David.”

The insider further claimed that Simon Cowell is friends with the former Strictly star and wanted to work with him. Apparently, the music mogul knows that Tonioli has a huge fan base in the UK. Thus, appointing him as Walliams’ successor would be great news for the public.

Enlisting Him Could be Seen as a “Snub” to Strictly Come Dancing

It’s no secret that Strictly Come Dancing has served as a rival for Cowell’s shows over the years. With that, the insider claimed that having Tonioli in Britain’s Got Talent would frustrate BBC.

“Signing Bruno would also be seen as a snub to Strictly who are his long-time rivals from the days when Simon’s other show, The X Factor, was locked in a ratings battle with the Beeb rival,” the insider said.

If Tonioli will indeed be a BGT judge, he will follow a similar path as Alesha Dixon. For those who may not know, Dixon assumed a role in the judging panel of Strictly for three years before becoming a regular judge in BGT.

Ultimately, the decision on who should replace Walliams in Britain’s Got Talent is on Cowell. While talks are still ongoing, one source said that nothing has been offered yet. Nonetheless, the final call shall be made soon because filming will already start on January 24.
