‘DWTS’ Fans Slam Rylee Arnold for Copying Sister Lindsay Arnold’s Disney Night Choreography

Rylee Arnold may be the youngest and newest Dancing With The Stars pro this season, but fans are not sparing her from critiques. Recently, fans were disappointed when they realized Arnold copied choreography from her sister Lindsay Arnold. Specifically, fans noticed the similarities between Rylee and Harry Jowsey’s Disney100 Night dance and Lindsay Arnold and Sean Spicer’s Disney Night 2019 dance.

Rylee Arnold Receives Backlash After Copying Her Sister’s Season 28 Dance

On October 17, Rylee and her celebrity partner Jowsey graced the ballroom for Disney100 Night. Dressing up as Woody and Bo Peep from Toy Story, the dancing duo performed a Quickstep to “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.” This routine earned them their highest score by far, 21/30.

However, while their routine has given them the best judges’ response yet, fans noticed something uncanny about their performance. Apparently, parts of their dance were copied directly from a choreography executed by Lindsay before.

Back in Season 28, Lindsay and her celebrity partner Sean Spicer also danced Quickstep to the same song. Hence, upon finding out, several DWTS fans quickly went to Reddit to express their negative reactions.

“Riley needs to come up with her own choreography, if she’s not ready perhaps she shouldn’t be a pro. I liked them but I won’t be voting for them anymore,” one fan stated.

“I’m completely fine with the nepo hire as long as she actually proves she deserves to be a pro, but this isn’t selling me,” another fan wrote.

“I was wondering how an 18 year old with likely minimal choreography experience was going to hold up against the other pros. Now I know how she’s doing it,” another fan stated.

Clearly, many fans are disappointed of the new DWTS pro for her “lack of originality.” Nonetheless, it seems that their seconds-long rip off did not offend their standing in the competition. Rylee and Jowsey still managed to advance to the fifth week. Britt Stewart and Adrian Peterson were the ones eliminated on week four.

Some Fans are Defending Her

Amid the unfavorable comments, a number of fans believe that people should “cut her some slack.” For them, Rylee should be given more opportunity to prove herself to the crowd.

“I don’t think it’s a huge deal. Honestly feels like some people are trying to tear this couple down at any given moment,” a fan wrote. “Rylee is 18 and has won so many championships. Super talented girl who deserves this. If her sister helped her for like an 8 second sequence it’s not the end of the world.”

Meanwhile, one fan stated that it’s natural for some pros to “reuse choreo sections.” Citing further that Ryle is “still a young girl,” it must be understood that she’s relying on others regarding her dance steps.

“Why are y’all acting like Rylee copied the entire dance, step-by-step? There was maybe one 8-count that was the same and now everyone is acting like Lindsay is choreographing all of Rylee’s dances. Get real,” another user wrote.

Despite the present issue, Rylee and Jowsey seem to be seizing their moments in the competition. The dancing duo has recently been making noise on social media for laying into dating rumors. As of yet, the two have not been clear regarding the real score of their relationship.
