JoJo Siwa, Allison Holker Boss to Receive Awards
According to Deadline, special awards will be presented during this year’s Industry Dance Awards. That includes the Trailblazer Award for Siwa and the New Media Influencer award for Holker Boss. Director and former SYTYCD judge Adam Shankman will receive the Dance Visionary Award.
Siwa was certainly a trailblazer on Season 30 of DWTS, as she and her partner Jenna Johnson were the first same-sex pairing to compete on the show. They finished the competition in second place, behind winner Iman Shumpert.
The Industry Dance Awards website describes the ceremony as “an annual event that brings the global dance community together in celebration of creativity, industry innovation, and the fight against cancer,” as well as “the most prestigious event in the dance industry.”
This year’s awards will take place on Wednesday, October 12. Will Thomas, who competed on Season 9 of SYTYCD, will co-host the event with Britt Stewart, who is currently competing on DWTS Season 31 with Daniel Durant.

Holker Boss Was Formerly a DWTS Pro
Allison Holker Boss competed on Season 2 of So You Think You Can Dance and then later returned as an all-star. She was also a pro dancer on DWTS for several seasons starting in Season 19. She and partner Riker Lynch were runners-up in Season 20.
Holker Boss is also married to SYTYCD judge Stephen “tWitch” Boss. The couple frequently posts dance routines on social media. Due to their activity online, Holker’s Boss’ New Media Influencer Award at the Industry Dance Awards makes so much sense.
Holker Boss reportedly reacted to news of the award on Instagram stories, writing that she was “honored and grateful.” Her husband posted on his own stories, “Let’s gooooo!!!! So proud of you, babe.”
