Who Is Jonathan Owens?
Owens is a 26-year-old football safety for the Houston Texans who previously played college football at Missouri Western. He and Biles met on social media in March 2020, and Owens says he didn’t know who Biles was at the time. With sports postponed because of the pandemic, the couple had time to get to know each other.
“This was a match made in heaven,” Owens told Texas Monthly last year. “There’s no better person for me. She loves me, she’s so affectionate. I just love that. And it’s just intoxicating seeing how much work she puts into everything.”
Owens posted several photos of his own to announce the engagement, writing, “Woke up this morning with a fiancée.” He also thanked his friends for helping him set up the surprise, adding that Biles “really had no clue what was coming.”
