Does Kelly Clarkson want to quit her eponymous talk show and leave New York City? According to a new report from Page Six, Clarkson is looking to step down from her Emmy-winning hosting position next year.
Does Kelly Clarkson Want to Quit Her Talk Show?
The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019. The Emmy-winning program moved production from Los Angeles to New York City in 2023. Because of this move, Clarkson left her longtime position as a coach on The Voice.
Multiple sources have reportedly told Page Six that Clarkson is thinking about leaving the show when the contract expires next year, in the hope of spending more time with her two children — 10-year-old River Rose and 8-year-old Remy.
“Kelly’s number one priority is her children, and they always will be,” a source told the publication. “The show is grueling. It’s a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South.”
Recently, Clarkson was absent from a number of episodes, with several celebrity guest hosts (such as Andy Cohen and Simu Liu) filling in for her. Clarkson was back to celebrate the show’s 1,000th episode last month, but she has not shared a reason for her absence.

The Show Was Renewed Through 2026
In December, Deadline reported that The Kelly Clarkson Show had been renewed for Season 7, through 2026. In the past, the show has been renewed for two seasons at a time rather than just one. Currently, Season 6 of the show is airing.
“It’s a tough job and profit margins are low,” another source told Page Six of the show, noting how expensive it is to produce. Sources also reportedly shared that NBC would like Clarkson on hand to host specials for the network such as Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
Meanwhile, sources have denied a recent report that Clarkson could be joining Jenna Bush Hager to co-host the 10 a.m. hour of Today, pointing out that she’s never even been a guest co-host on the show.
