While other members of the Dancing With the Stars cast may be nervous about the show’s decision to move to a streaming network, Derek Hough is excited. He confirmed that he will return for the series next season streamed exclusively on Disney Plus.
Dancing With the Stars returns this fall on Disney Plus and Derek Hough can’t wait. This longtime professional dancer turned series judge has an optimistic outlook in this time of uncertainty for the series. Even though he was confused about the networks decision at first, he has since become excited about it.
“Dancing With the Stars has always been a trailblazer, they’ve always been the first to do things,” Hough said. “So to move into this area is very bold, very brave, and I’m very excited about it, to be a part of that new phase in television!”
While sharing his excitement, he noted that the turn to streaming might change aspects of the series. Disney Plus does not have commercial breaks, so there’s more opportunities and more air time. He expressed that the added time would give more performances, dances, creativity, and more.
Hough confirmed that he will return to the series in the fall, but is unsure who is returning with him at this time. He’s remaining positive, hoping that familiar faces return alongside him. Besides Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Cheryl Burke, Gleb Savchenko, and Keo Motsepe have all shared positive statements about the series move to Disney Plus.
