Derek Hough Details Trip to Africa with Girlfriend Hayley Erbert
Dancing with the Stars judge Derek Hough was a guest on Live with Kelly and Ryan on Tuesday, and he shared a few details about his recent trip to Africa with girlfriend and fellow dancer Hayley Erbert. Hough also talked about his experience building his new house, as well as his Las Vegas residency.
Derek Hough Visited Africa with Girlfriend Hayley Erbert
Hough shared that he and Erbert visited Tanzania, Kenya, and Rwanda. He showed off a few photos from the trip, in which the couple views elephants and feeds giraffes. In one of the shots, they’re in an elegant ballroom pose while the giraffe eats from Hough’s hand.
The dancer also took photos of lions and gorillas. He explained that they saw a family of gorillas in an extinct volcano in Rwanda. He even imitated the sound they made to tell the gorillas that they were friends. They had to shoo the baby gorillas away to avoid touching them.
Hough also told the hosts that he’s been framing his new house. He said he enjoys building things, comparing it to choreographing a dance routine. When asked if he ever has a shirt on when he works on the house, he replied, “No, absolutely not. Why would you?”
Hough Talks About His Las Vegas Residency
Hough has a show called No Limit at the Venetian in Las Vegas. The show began in September and will run through November 21. Hough said “the audiences have been incredible” so far. He added that there’s “not a bad seat in the house.”
“Show’s going great,” Hough shared. “Really proud of it. The energy, the dancing, the music. It’s just been fantastic, so I love it … It has contemporary, Latin, ballroom, tap. Every different genre. Live music, live band. It’s a party.”
Derek Hough is a busy guy, since he’s juggling this residency with his job as judge on Dancing with the Stars. He even performed a routine during Monday’s Horror Night, along with Erbert.
