Reading Time: 2 minutes
If Holy Fvck has proved anything, it’s that this is Demi Lovato’s world and we’re all just living in it. On August 19, The former X Factor judge dropped her highly anticipated eighth studio album. It has already made quite the impact on social media.
Demi Lovato has returned to her rock roots for the release of her eighth studio album, Holy Fvck. If you loved her hits like “Get Back,” “Don’t Forget,” and “La La Land,” you will love this release.
Lovato has broken back into the rock genre again. After years of singing pop, Lovato took back her control by returning to her rock roots for Holy Fvck. The singer has previously revealed that this album features “a deeply personal journal that begins with pain and anger and concludes with me reclaiming my power.”
This album is truly empowering from start to finish. Each song is clearly a work of Lovato’s reflection, discussing previous addiction, relationships, and more. Listening to the album from beginning to end sends the listener through a journey inside her mind. I personally love the fact that Lovato has returned to her rock roots for this album, since it’s the sound that she’s always enjoyed.
As a longtime fan of Lovato, I can say I am completely satisfied with this album. I loved her original rock era and was hoping that she’d come back to it as strong as she did. Lovato was always portrayed as the most edgy Disney Channel female, until her edge dulled for whatever reason. This singer led a successful career in the pop genre, but there’s truly nothing like her singing a rock song.
Holy Fvck’s Release Journey
Ahead of the release of the final album, the singer released two tracks with accompanying music videos. These music videos for “SKIN OF MY TEETH” and “SUBSTANCE” have brought in 3.7 million and 5.3 million respectively since their release. Recently, Lovato’s single “29” went viral due to the discussion of her age gap with ex boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. For those who may not know, Lovato dated Valderrama while she was 17 and he was 29.
Lovato is currently touring to promote the brand new album. Within her tour, she’s been recorded singing some of her previous hits like “La La Land,” “Confident,” “Don’t Forget,” and more. This singer is currently on tour until November 6, so be sure to pick up tickets if you’re interested in attending.
