American Idol runner up David Archuleta postponed his first concert on the OK, All Right Tour. The tour was supposed to begin with a performance at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA, on February 8. Before the concert, Archuleta was put on vocal rest by his doctor.

Archuleta posted a video to his Instagram explaining why he had to suddenly postpone his show in West Hollywood. This video was posted exactly an hour and half before his tour was supposed to kick off and the singer’s voice is extremely shaky within it. Leading up to the tour, Archuleta had been sharing TikTok videos of him singing. Within those videos his voice never sounded shaky, so fans can assume this came on pretty quick.

“I’m so sorry that I have to do this literally an hour and a half before my show tonight at the Troubadour, but I just got back from the doctor and by doctors orders I have to postpone my show,” Archuleta said. “I’m so sorry because I know people are already on their way and I was trying my best and, I’m just sorry to let anyone down tonight.”

He shared that his team sent emails to people who bought tickets. Ticket holders will be granted a refund if needed. As of right now, the singer didn’t give information about a new date at the Troubadour. In the comments of the video, Archuleta shared more information on the sudden decision to postpone the concert.

“My vocal cords are strained and singing at all is too dangerous. I can imagine the frustration anyone would feel from being canceled again,” Archuleta wrote. “I won’t give up on coming back to eventually perform though despite all these setbacks.”

David Archuleta Embarks on OK, All Right Tour

Archuleta was set to begin his OK, All Right tour in 2020. The singer had to postpone the tour multiple times due to the pandemic. On January 14, the singer announced the rescheduled dates for this tour. The concert series was supposed to begin on February 7 and conclude on March 25.

Before kicking off the tour, Archuleta had been sharing videos of him covering well known songs. His voice sounded totally normal within the cover videos, so I think it’s safe to say that his vocal strain came on pretty quick. Archuleta and his team have not announced cancellation of upcoming tour dates at this time. Fans should expect other dates to be rescheduled due to the serious nature of Archuleta’s injury.
