Dancing with the Stars Season 34 premieres next Tuesday night on ABC and Disney+. Ahead of the first week of the competition, Billboard has revealed which couples will be performing which dances, and what songs will be featured in their performances.
DWTS Week 1 Dances, Songs Revealed
For the first week of the Dancing with the Stars competition, each celebrity and their professional partner will be performing a Latin dance — salsa, tango, cha-cha, or jive. They’ll be dancing to some pretty big hits by artists such as Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga.
The couples dancing tango include Lauren Jauregui and Brandon Armstrong (set to “Yes, And?” by Ariana Grande); Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson (set to “It’s Still Rock & Roll to Me” by Billy Joel); Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas (set to HUNTR/X’s “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters); Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov (set to “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson); and Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold (set to “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga).
The couples taking on the salsa include Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnik (set to “NUEVAYoL” by Bad Bunny), and Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa. According to Billboard, the latter couple’s song choice for the dance is yet to be determined.
For the cha-cha, we can expect to see routines by Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy (set to “Circus” by Britney Spears); Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko (set to “Let’s Get Loud” by Jennifer Lopez); Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach (set to “Milkshake” by Kelis); Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten (set to “Woman” by Kesha); Baron Davis and Britt Stewart (set to “U Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer); and Andy Richter and Emma Slater (set to “Hold On, I’m Coming” by Sam & Dave).
Only one couple will be attempting the jive this week — Robert Irwin and Witney Carson. They’ll be dancing to “Born to Be Wild” by Steppenwolf.
Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars is set to premiere live on Tuesday, September 16, on both ABC and Disney+. New episodes of the season will also be available for fans to stream the next day on Hulu.
Co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will be back to emcee the competition, and the judging panel will once again feature Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. The celebrities and their professional partners will be competing to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
