The Dancing with the Stars Season 35 cast is apparently coming together quickly ahead of the official announcement in September. The show’s casting director Deena Katz recently gave some hints about the new cast of celebrities.
Dancing with the Stars Casting Director Teases Season 35
“I’m really excited about what I’m putting together this year,” DWTS executive producer and casting director Deena Katz recently told On the Red Carpet at the 51st Gracie Awards in Beverly Hills. “I’m even a little bit earlier than I usually am. I’m about two-thirds of the way done already.”
Season 34 contestant Danielle Fishel, who was also at the event, asked Katz if the cast for Season 35 will be bigger or smaller than last year’s lineup, to which Katz replied, “It’s probably gonna be about the same.”
“It’s coming together great,” Katz continued. “I will say, if it’s a hint at all… I feel like one of the many reasons why the show is doing as well is it’s become very competitive. I feel like it’s a little bit more like a sporting event than it used to be. So you could imagine there’s going to be people that, the competition keeps raising.”
The official cast announcement for Season 35 will take place September 2 on Good Morning America. That gives fans plenty of time to speculate about which celebrities might be entering the ballroom later this year.
We might have to wait a few months to find out the full cast of celebrities and pros for Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars, but a few famous cast members have actually been announced already.
It was recently announced that Love Island UK star Maura Higgins will be entering the ballroom, along with Summer House star Ciara Miller. Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson Olson was also announced as a cast member.
It’s not yet known which pro dancers these celebrities will be paired with for the new season. Ahead of the premiere this fall, a spin-off series titled Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro will air on ABC beginning July 13, with the winner joining the show as a new pro.
