‘Dancing With The Stars’ Announces Second Celebrity Cast Member of 2025 — It Wasn’t Who You Were Expecting!

Dancing With The Stars returns to ABC and Disney+ this fall. Nearly months before the show airs, ABC has revealed two of the upcoming celebrity contestants. The second celebrity contestant announced for Dancing With The Stars Season 34 is Alix Earle.
Alix Earle Joins The Cast of Dancing With The Stars Season 34
On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Dancing With The Stars announced their second celebrity cast member on Good Morning America. TikToker Alex Earle is officially the second celebrity cast member to join Dancing With The Stars season 34.
For those who may not be familiar, Alix Earle rose to fame on TikTok where she has over seven million followers. In 2023, she launched the “Hot Mess” podcast which was originally part of Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network. Ahead of this announcement Earle had announced her podcast was going on a hiatus and would no longer be apart of Cooper’s network.
In April, it was announced that Robert Irwin would be joining Season 34 of DWTS. For those who may not know, Robert Irwin is the son of legendary Australian zookeeper and conservationist, Steve Irwin. He is siblings with Dancing With The Stars Season 21 winner Bindi Irwin.
Dancing With The Stars Finale Ratings, Viewership Up Last Season
At the end of last season, it was announced that Dancing With The Stars had their best ratings in three years. According to Variety, last season’s DWTS finale averaged nearly 8 million viewers and a 1.55 rating with adults 18-49.
“That total viewers tally — 7.95 million — was up 25% over its live+same day number (6.36 million) and up 36% over its adults 18-49 average (1.14 million),” Variety wrote in December 2024.
This was the largest viewership since the Season 30 premiere in 2021. It was also the largest finale viewership since Nov. 25, 2019. As for the competition itself, ABC received 32 million votes for the finale.
It’s believed that the show’s relevance is coming back after producers hired professional dancers, Ezra Sosa and Rylee Arnold, whom have a big social media presence. At this time, the official Dancing With The Stars 2025 premiere date has yet to be released. The professional cast has also yet to be announced for the upcoming season.
