‘Dancing With The Star’ Pros We Want to See on the Judging Panel
Reading Time: 2 minutes
If there’s anyone who could serve as a great addition to the Dancing With The Stars judging panel, it would be the people that take on the task of choreographing, teaching, and performing weekly dances. Given that, former DWTS professionals are perfect for the job.
After watching both Julianne and Derek Hough evolve in the ballroom, from pro dancer to judge, it’s clear that other former pros are perfect for this role. Although we love to see these dancers grace the ballroom as pros each season, we also believe they have the capacity to step up as judges.
DWTS Pros We’d love to See on the Judging Panel
1. Cheryl Burke
Before retiring as a DWTS pro, Cheryl Burke has vocalized her desire to take a judging role in the series. Allegedly though, the show has rejected her offer to upgrade her as judge. Burke could nonetheless have been a great judge, being the first two-time winner the show has ever had, claiming victory in seasons two and three.
2. Mark Ballas
Making his grand return back in season 31, Mark Ballas has also proven his dance skills in DWTS. He’s also a two-time winner, winning season six with Kristi Yamaguchi and season seven with Shawn Johnson. We definitely think he’ll make a good judge, given that his critiquing skill runs in her genes — her mom Shirley Ballas is a judge on Strictly Come Dancing.
3. Peta Murgatroyd
Peta Murgatroyd could also possibly be a fair and critical judge on DWTS. The latin pro is no stranger to snatching Mirrorball trophies, with football player Donald Driver and deaf model Nyle DiMarco. Her success with DiMarco is a testament to her dancing power that could translate if given a judging role in the series.
4. Maks Chmerkovskiy
Following longtime judge Len Goodman’s exit from the series, many fans wish that Maks Chmerkovskiy would go on to fill his spot. His wife Murgatroyd believes he’s perfect for the role as well. He won his first DWTS title with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis.
5. Emma Slater
Winning Season 24 with Rashad Jennings, English pro Emma Slater might be a valuable addition to the judging desk. With Slater’s dynamic personality and expressive nature, she could be a meticulous but awesome critic.
