Dance Moms fans have something to look forward to in 2024, since the show has a reunion special planned. Six former stars from the show, including JoJo Siwa, announced their participation earlier this week.
Dance Moms Cast Announces 2024 Reunion Special
On Wednesday, the official Dance Moms Instagram account posted a photo of Siwa with fellow alums Chloé Lukasiak, Paige Hyland, Brooke Hyland, Kendall Vertes, and Kalani Hilliker. The caption reads that the special will air on Lifetime next year.
Some fans were wondering where certain other cast members were, including Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler and Nia Sioux. Siwa commented on the post, writing that “everyone was invited” to film the reunion, “but only some wanted to be here.”
One Instagram commenter wrote that the missing cast members were “so real for refusing to return to this.” However, it doesn’t appear that their absence is due to drama among the cast.
People reports that a day before the announcement, a number of former cast members got together to celebrate Paige Hyland’s 23rd birthday. Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler were there, along with their mom Melissa Gisoni. Nia Sioux and her mom, Holly Hatcher-Frazier, were also there.
The Show Premiered in 2011
Dance Moms was a reality show on Lifetime that aired from 2011 to 2019. It documented young dancers at a company owned by Abby Lee Miller. The show also frequently featured conflicts between the dancers’ mothers.
Arguably the most famous faces to emerge from Dance Moms are Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, who started on the show during the first season, and JoJo Siwa, who joined the show in Season 5. It doesn’t look like Miller will be part of next year’s reunion special.
