JoJo Siwa Says She Lost “A Lot” After Coming Out at 17
On her podcast JoJo Siwa … Now, Siwa revealed the mixed reactions she faced after coming out as queer at the age of 17. The former Dance Moms star shared her experience, noting that while she received an outpouring of love and support from many, there was also a significant amount of negativity.
“I remember I was on the phone with my girlfriend at the time. I was like, ‘I think I want to come out to the world,’ and she was like, ‘OK, do it.'” Siwa said.
While the positive reactions were heartwarming, Siwa acknowledged that she also “lost a lot” due to her coming out. She expressed that staying true to herself was paramount, and she then built her career on authenticity.
