Dan + Shay Join The Voice as Coaches for 2024 Season
It feels like we just learned the coaching lineup for Season 24 of the show, which airs later this year. Now The Voice has already announced the coaches for the next season after that, set to air in 2024. On Wednesday, the show teased that there would be a double chair.
Now we know that the chair belongs to Dan + Shay, who are known for their songs “Speechless” and “Tequila” and have collaborated with a number of famous artists such as Justin Bieber and Kelly Clarkson.
Next year’s coaching lineup will also feature Reba McEntire, who is joining the show for her first season this year. Also returning to the show for Season 25 are coaches John Legend and Chance the Rapper. Legend will also be back for the upcoming Season 24.
Season 24 will also feature returning coaches Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani. Fans can expect to see the new season sometime this fall on NBC.
This Is the Show’s First-Ever Coaching Duo
“SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE WILL BE JOINING @nbcthevoice IN 2024 AS THE FIRST COACHING DUO!” Dan + Shay wrote in an Instagram post announcing the news.
While this is the first time the American version of The Voice as had two coaches in one chair, it’s not the first time for the franchise as a whole. For instance, The Voice of Germany has had several coaching duos over the years. Similarly, The Voice of Holland (which inspired the American version) featured the duo Nick & Simon as coaches during the first three seasons.
As you might remember, Dan + Shay have been on The Voice before. In Season 20, they appeared as Battle Advisors on Team Blake. What do you think about the news that they’ll be coaching on the show? Let us know in the comments below.
