Who doesn’t love a good old fashion death-defying act? I know I do. This Tuesday, German-born circus performer Lea Hinz will leave audiences captivated by her presence on the America’s Got Talent stage. Specializing in aerial hoop, the highly technical performance is designed to be nothing short of a million dollar act.

Where it All Began

Hinz was first trained as a gymnast. She competed for her National Team at a young age and discovered her passion for performing soon after. She was quickly known for her advanced technique and dare-devil risks.

Hinz joined Europe’s biggest touring show Feuerwerk der Turnkunst after finishing her career as a competitive gymnast. The thrill of participating in such an extravagant show inspired her to create her own act. In 2012 Hinz presented her first aerial act “Bloodstream†in Montreal.

“The circus arts and acrobatics surrounding me made me wish to try out something new though. I wanted to work in the air. I was especially tempted to explore movements on an aerial hoop so I decided to have one made in the dimensions I wanted and started training†according to her website.
