Reading Time: 2 minutes
Days ahead of the premiere of The Voice season 23, the show published their highly anticipated coach performance. The performance features returning coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, as well as new coaches Chance The Rapper and Niall Horan. You don’t want to miss this flawless performance.
The Voice Premieres Season 23 Coach Performance
On March 2, The Voice published this season’s coach performance. For those who may not know, the show typically has the four coaches sing together at the beginning of the show, to show off their musical talents. Within the video, Clarkson, Shelton, Chance The Rapper, and Horan are sitting in giant chairs, harmonizing along to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli.
Chance The Rapper began the song, then passed the tune off to Horan, Shelton, and Clarkson. Each coach has clear pockets to show off their buttery vocals. Since they continually pass around the song’s chorus line, it’s easy to get a feel for each of the artists, as well as their vibe.
While it’s always a pleasure to hear Clarkson and Shelton, some of my favorite moments of this song are sung by Chance The Rapper and Horan. “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli was an amazing choice. It works extremely well for each of the artists. This will be on repeat until the season begins.
Fans are Already Obsessed with This Coach Lineup
This glimpse of The Voice season 23 has gotten fans excited for the upcoming premiere. Since the show has been teasing Shelton’s bromance with Horan, many are commenting about their repore, or about Chance The Rapper’s tonality.
“They all have such different voices, but they came together so nicely for this performance. Honestly, also didn’t know Chance could sing like this,” a fan wrote on YouTube. “Really enjoyed this, and so excited for the new season.”
Alongside these comments are some about Horan’s tonality as a whole. Although Horan has premiered a successful solo career, many hadn’t heard him sing solo. Most remember him as part of The X Factor UK group One Direction, instead.
The Voice season 23 premieres on Monday, March 6 on NBC. Be sure to tune into the first round of episodes at 8 p.m. ET. The show will air twice a week, so be sure to tune in on Tuesday as well.
