Reading Time: 2 minutes
Canada’s Got Talent is returning for a second season on Citytv, and the show just announced that it will premiere in March of this year. The new season started filming last year, with the entire judging panel returning.
Canada’s Got Talent Season 2 to Premiere in March
The official CGT Instagram account recently shared an image promoting the upcoming new season, showing judges Howie Mandel, Lilly Singh, Kardinal Offishall, and Trish Stratus, along with host Lindsay Ell. The caption reads, “All-new year. All-new season. All-new talent. Prepare to be amazed.”
The show didn’t give a specific date, but fans now have a more concrete time of year to look forward to the new season. Last year, the show premiered on March 22, with the finale airing in May. It’s not clear yet how closely this year’s schedule will follow last year’s.
Filming for the second season began in October of last year at a new venue, Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls. As Trish Stratus said at the time, “We have more people. It’s sold out. It’s like, people are into us.”
Winner Jeanick Fournier Is Competing on AGT: All-Stars
Last year’s CGT winner, singer Jeanick Fournier, is returning to the Got Talent stage for the new America’s Got Talent spin-off, AGT: All-Stars. Fournier is one of 60 acts from Got Talent shows around the world competing to be named the best of the best.
Fournier earned the Golden Buzzer from CGT host Lindsay Ell and went on to win the show’s comeback season with her incredible voice. Since appearing on the show, Fournier released a self-titled debut album, which features the original song “Moment” and the Celine Dion cover “I Surrender.”
How far will Fournier go in this new competition? We’ll find out soon, as AGT: All-Stars premieres Monday night at 8/7c on NBC.
