BTS Announces Their Upcoming ‘MTV Unplugged’ Special That Has Fans Thrilled

BTS is continuing their takeover by being the next artists to perform on MTV’s Unplugged. Many famous celebrities have performed on the show, the most recent one was Miley Cyrus a couple of months ago. The group is set to perform on Tuesday, February 23rd at 9pm.
BTS Will Perform at ‘MTV Unplugged’
MTV Unplugged is a series where singers perform acoustic live performances of some of their famous hits. Many singers have sang on the series such as Nirvana, Lauryn Hill, Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys etc. The show hasn’t aired since 2009 but returned in 2020 with Miley Cyrus, who sang live from her backyard. She sang some of her well known hits and songs from other artists, she also performed with her sister.
BTS is expected to sing songs from their new album BE that was released in November 2020 live from Seoul, South Korea. Their album BE is nominated for Grammy awards such as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. The Grammy’s will air on Sunday, March 14th. Last year they won VMAs for Best Pop, Best Group, Best K-Pop, and Best Choreography.

BTS has also been working to help with the Covid-19 pandemic. They auctioned off their outfits from their “Dynamite” music video and donated $162,500 to the MusiCares Covid-19 relief fund. They auctioned the clothes off to Japanese art collector Yusaku Maezawa, and Japan’s most famous Youtuber HIKAKIN.

The group also surprised fans recently when they announced their BE Essentials Edition which will be dropping February 19th. It will feature eight tracks that were on the deluxe edition such as “Life Goes On,” “Fly to My Room,” “Blue & Grey,” “Skit,” “Telepathy,” “Dis-Ease,” “Stay,” and “Dynamite.” It will also feature some new songs that weren’t in the Deluxe version.
