Brynn Cartelli Makes Her ‘Voice’ Family’s Mascara Run In A Sweet Show Of Support

It’s a big week for The Voice winner Brynn Cartelli. The Season 14 champ has joined coach Kelly Clarkson on her Meaning of Life tour, which kicked off on Thursday night. To show their support for the 15-year-old star, Brynn’s former competitors on the show started a sweet social media trend.
Contestants such as Sharane Calister, Kaleb Lee, and Rayshun LaMarr posted photos of themselves pretending to cry with mascara running down their faces. It’s a reference to Brynn’s single “Last Night’s Mascara.”
The Voice posted an Instagram gallery of the photos, which also came from Britton Buchanan, Kyla Jade, D.R. King, Pryor Baird, and Jackie Foster. They all encouraged their followers to stream “Last Night’s Mascara,” with some also shouting out Brynn’s tour. “Don’t mind me, just crying happy tears,” wrote Christiana Danielle on Twitter.
Chevel Shepherd Supports Her Fellow The Voice Winner
It wasn’t just the Season 14 crew who shared their support. Season 15 winner Chevel Shepherd also tweeted her own mascara-streaked photo. “That @BrynnCartelli… gets me every time,” she wrote to accompany the pic.

Brynn took notice of the contestants’ support, retweeting several of their posts with comments. She called Chevel a “cutie patootieeeeee” and praised Kaleb Lee’s acting skills.

How Did The Voice Coordinate This?
Talent Recap reached out to Season 12 contestant TSoul, who competed on Team Blake, to get his insight into how the show may have coordinated these photos. He said he thought the gesture was “really cool,” adding, “I don’t know exactly how it was initiated but my guess was the new social media team that The Voice has had something to do with it.”
He says the show hired a new social media team sometime after his season. He adds that they’re doing a “better job” and shares, “I applaud them often!”
Whatever the explanation, it’s great to see former competitors supporting each other like this. They may have all been chasing the same win, but there’s no reason they can’t be happy for each other when they find success. That’s how it should always be.
