‘The Voice’s Brynn Cartelli Ditches Her Winning Prize Record Deal

Brynn Cartelli Record DealKyle Montplaisir | Talent Recap

Last night on The Voice Finale, Season 14 winner Brynn Cartelli officially announced her new record deal! Brynn has been signed by Atlantic Records. This means she has parted ways with Republic Records, which was her winning prize record deal.

Here was Brynn’s announcement on Instagram:

Brynn Cartelli has been very visible this season, since her win on The Voice a few months ago. She launched her first music video on the show, announced she is touring with coach Kelly Clarkson and Kelsea Ballerini, performed for the Team Kelly members remaining last week, and debuted a new song live this week. Currently, her newest single, “Last Night’s Mascara” is in the Top 25 on the iTunes charts! To put it simply, Brynn has actually been getting the airtime a winner deserves.

So this news of dropping her winning record deal is huge! But she isn’t the first winner of The Voice to do so. In fact, only Chloe Kohanski, Jordan Smith, and Danielle Bradbery remain with Republic. All other winners have parted ways with their winning record deals. Javier Colon, Tessanne Chin, and Sawyer Fredericks all released an album with Republic before dropping them due to little or no promotion from the label.

This is probably the right move for Brynn, who’s looking to become the first Voice winner to make it big. Going hand-in-hand with that, a few months ago, it was announced that Kelly Clarkson’s husband, Brandon Blackstock, is now Brynn’s manager! Brandon also manages The Voice‘s Blake Shelton, Brynn has been making moves since her win, mostly under the guidance of her coach Kelly Clarkson. It goes to show that with the right coaching, during AND AFTER the show, The Voice can produce a success story.

Brynn Cartelli Record Deal Chevel

This is promising for last night’s winner Chevel Shepherd! It seems like Kelly is the most invested in her artists’ success. And this news from Brynn shows that it doesn’t take the winning record deal to make things happen. I don’t think this will be the last we see from Brynn Cartelli on The Voice!
