Bruno Tonioli Hits BGT Golden Buzzer in Semifinals

During this week’s show, Jasmine Rice took the stage to sing “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman. Jasmine wore a dramatic gown and hairstyle as she showed off her operatic voice on the sweeping song. The judges gave Jasmine a standing ovation for the performance.

This season, the judges and hosts get to press one Golden Buzzer each during the Semifinals. This week, it was Bruno Tonioli’s turn to do the honors. The crowd went wild as Tonioli gave his thoughts on Jasmine’s performance. He gave them what they wanted by hitting the Golden Buzzer.

This sent Jasmine straight through to the Series 18 Finals. Tonioli ran up on stage to give her a hug and tell her how much she deserved the honor. When she was asked how she felt, Jasmine told hosts Ant & Dec, “I feel like I’m dreaming.”

Judge Alesha Dixon said Jasmine’s performance was a “work of art.” Amanda Holden told Jasmine that she has “never heard it [‘Never Enough’] sung like that before.” Simon Cowell called those in the opera world who rejected Jasmine “complete and utter idiots.”

Ping Pong Pang Receives Public Vote

In addition to Jasmine Rice, one other act was chosen to move on to the Series 18 finale during this week’s show — determined by the public vote. That act turned out to be Ping Pong Pang, a dynamic dance group that incorporates ping pong into their routines.

This week, the group delivered a colorful and energetic performance featuring neon ping pong paddles. Their synchronized dance moves impressed the judges, who gave the group a standing ovation for their incredible routine.

Amanda Holden told the group that if another Golden Buzzer was up for grabs this week, she thought they would receive it. Holden called it “a winning performance” and encouraged viewers at home to vote. Tonioli called the group’s choreography “superb.”

Jasmine Rice and Ping Pong Pang will join The Blackouts, Vinnie McKee, Olly Pearson, and Stacey Leadbeatter in the Series 18 finale. Do you agree with this week’s results? Let us know in the comments below.

Sydnie Christmas, Loren Allred Perform Together

This weekend’s Semifinals show also featured a guest performance from two former BGT contestants — Series 17 winner Sydnie Christmas, and Series 15 finalist Loren Allred. The two talented singers teamed up for an incredible duet of “Over the Rainbow.”

The powerhouse performance had the judges on their feet and the crowd cheering. Christmas told hosts Ant & Dec that she’s had an “absolutely incredible, life-changing year” since winning BGT. She called it “a dream come true.”

Allred (who is known for being the voice behind “Never Enough” in The Greatest Showman) shared that she and Christmas have “become really good friends,” telling the singer, “I love you so much.” She thanked the show for having her back to perform.
