Britney Spears is releasing her new memoir later this month, and the book apparently doesn’t paint her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake in the best light. According to a source, Spears “goes after him hard.”

“Justin’s not going to be happy,” a source told Us Weekly about Spears’ memoir, titled The Woman in Me. Another source shared that Spears is “excited but nervous” about the book’s upcoming release on October 24.

“It’s not Britney’s intention to skewer anyone,” another source said of the book. “She’s just going to relay the facts from her perspective.”

According to reports from earlier this year, the release of Spears’ book was delayed by four months over concerns raised by her exes, particularly Timberlake and Colin Farrell. Lawyers for the two men reportedly threatened to sue if Spears didn’t remove certain details about them.

Spears dated Timberlake from 1999 to 2002. The two singers had met years before during their time on The Mickey Mouse Club. Timberlake’s song “Cry Me a River” is believed to be about Spears’ alleged infidelity.

Michelle Williams Will Narrate the Audiobook

People has reported that actress Michelle Williams will narrate the audiobook version of The Woman in Me, while Spears will record an introduction. In a statement, Williams said, “I stand with Britney.”

“This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it,” Spears said in her own statement. “Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook.”

The singer added, “I am so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest of it.”

The Woman in Me is available for pre-order now. It will be released on Tuesday, October 24.
