Brian Austin Green recently opened up about his decision to undergo a vasectomy after welcoming his son Zane with his fiancée, former Dancing with the Stars pro Sharna Burgess. The actor admitted that he didn’t plan for any of his children.
Brian Austin Green Opens Up About His Vasectomy
In a recent episode of their podcast Oldish, Green and Burgess talked about whether or not they want to have more kids together. Green admitted that he hasn’t planned for any of his five children — including one with his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil and three with his ex-wife Megan Fox.
“I love my kids, and I wasn’t against any of them, but I’ve never experienced that thing of looking at a pregnancy test and hoping that it’s positive and preparing that way,” Green shared, according to People.
Eight weeks after the couple welcomed their son Zane in 2022, Green underwent a vasectomy, explaining that it was “time to close the shop.” Burgess called it a “beautiful thing,” since birth control “always made me feel crazy and not inside my own body.”
Burgess said their lives are “very, very busy” right now with four young children in the house, so they don’t have immediate plans to expand their family.

The Couple Hasn’t Ruled Out More Kids
Although Green underwent a vasectomy, the couple hasn’t ruled out having kids entirely. This time, the couple wants to take the time to plan for another baby, possibly through IVF.
“If we do it again, I do want the experience of us planning it together, doing the pregnancy test, and really being on this journey with each other,” Burgess shared. “So, we would probably end up having to do IVF [in vitro fertilization].”
In September, the couple announced they were engaged. Green popped the question in July of last year, on his 50th birthday. Burgess told People that the couple is in “no rush” to plan their wedding.
