Sharna Burgess, Brian Austin Green Announce Their Engagement

After almost three years of dating, Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green are officially engaged. The Dancing With The Stars couple announced the news more than two months after the actor’s 50th birthday. Now, fans know that Green popped the question on this special day.
Sharna Burgess, Brian Austin Green Reveal Their Engagement
During the September 22 episode of Green’s iHeartRadio podcast Oldish, the pair shared that they’ve leveled up their status. Burgess then opened up about the moment the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum popped the question.
“Noah is holding Zane, and Journey is holding this little red Cartier box,” she said. “And they all come in there, and they stand next to Brian, and he takes the box from Journey, and he says, ‘Would you spend the rest of your life with us?’ I was just looking at him like, ‘I can’t believe this is really happening.'”
For those who may not know, Green shares Zane with the dancer, while he shares Noah, Bodhi, and Journey with ex-wife, Megan Fox. He also welcomed son (Kassius) with ex Vanessa Marcil.
According to Green, his 50th birthday was the perfect time to ask Burgess to marry him, since “she’d never see it coming.” Since planning the moment, Green knew he wanted to involve their kids in the proposal.
“I had this idea in my head that I wanted the kids to be a part of it, because they’re a part of everything,” he said.
The duo also explained why it took them months to announce their engagement. According to Burgess, they didn’t aim to hide the news. Instead, they wanted to “have that moment for us to ourselves and not make it about an announcement.”
“I would rather live in our engagement and enjoy that instead of obsessing over what the right way to do this is. The right way will present itself when it’s meant to,” she said.
Burgess and Green first met in 2020 at a café after a mutual acquaintance set them up for a date. Green admitted that he wasn’t looking for love during that time, but he quickly noticed sparks with the choreographer.
She Says His Kids are “Super Excited” for the Wedding
Last week, Burgess took to Instagram to show off her engagement ring with a short video clip. Captioning the post “our latest chapter,” she captured an close-up shot of Green’s hand and their kids’ before finally revealing the diamond ring.
During her previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, the DWTS pro gushed about her soon-to-be husbands’ children being super excited for their wedding. She also revealed who was the most emotional among all.
“I think all of us were emotional about it,” she told the outlet. “I think, honestly, Noah was the most emotional. [But] everyone was just so excited.”
Burgess went on and stated everyone was waiting for the wedding to happen. Now that it’s finally happening, she can’t help but feel overwhelmed.
“It was definitely an emotional moment for me, and to share it with my favorite people, it just feels so perfect and right,” she said.
Later in the interview, Burgess stated that Green’s ex-wife is also “super excited for us.” Despite their unconventional setup, the dancer is thankful that they “run up against zero friction and zero issues with anything with the kids.”
