Brandon Leake is Ready to Heal the World With New Book ‘Unraveling’
Brandon Leake is ready to heal the world with his new book Unraveling. The America’s Got Talent Season 15 winner announced that his first “real” book will debut on March 8. The book of poems is a collection of work over the course of five years. Unraveling will be published by Simon & Schuster. Fans can now pre-order his debut poetry collection.
Leake was the first spoken word poet to compete on America’s Got Talent and to receive the Golden Buzzer award in the first round. Now the champion has another goal in mind.
“I want to become a New York Times best selling author, which requires we get a certain number of pre orders,” Leake posted on his Instagram.
The former teacher is hoping viewers who voted for him on America’s Got Talent still have his back.
“You all have been a supportive fanbase and some of you, who I would consider homies and family, have been nothing short of phenomenal to me throughout the course of my 10 years as an artist. I believe we can do this,” Leake wrote.
The poet is pushing through fears to release this book, although he is used to performing on one of the biggest stages of the world.
“Some of them are poems that I’m afraid for the world to see, but I know they will be the healing somebody else needs,” he wrote.
Brandon Leake’s Career
Unraveling will hit all major bookstores and Leake is hoping to capture America’s heart through words once again. The cover art will remind fans of a child who colors outside of the line. Leake sticks to his known theme of being beautifully broken.
Leake beat out Archie Williams, Alan Silva, as well as the Bello Sisters on Season 15 of the competition show. He performed a spoken word poem in the form of a prayer to his daughter for his finale performance. Howie Mendel gave him a standing ovation.
Since winning, Leake has been signed to United Talent Agency. He also serves as a producing partner to Team Harmony Foundation’s new international web series, HATE: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
