Sign Along With Us Performs In The ‘BGT’ Final
Sign Along With Us auditioned for BGT with a performance of “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman. The performance brought the judges to tears, and David Walliams even hit his Golden Buzzer for them.
The group was started by a young woman named Jade, whose little brother Christian is vision impaired and has cerebral palsy. She taught him sign language, and then started a class to teach other people.
For their final performance, Sign Along With Us wore matching white outfits with their group name written in gold. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they had to be distanced on the stage, but they still made it work. The virtual audience was cheering them on as they performed “The Climb.”
What Did The Judges Think Of The Performance?
The BGT judges gave the group a standing ovation, and David Walliams said he “couldn’t be prouder,” calling it “magic.” He added that it was their best performance on the show, and hoped they would win.
“It’s such a meaningful song, the perfect song,” Alesha Dixon said, adding that she could see their passion. “You’re all just a sign of joy and hope.” Amanda Holden said it felt like the happy ending to a movie.
Sign Along With Us ended up being runners-up for Season 14 of BGT last year. They later appeared on the Christmas special, performing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.”
