Britain’s Got Talent Series 19 returned over the weekend for another episode of auditions, as judge Amanda Holden pressed the Golden Buzzer for an impressive Japanese dance group.
Amanda Holden Presses BGT Golden Buzzer for Dance Group
During Saturday’s new episode of BGT, a Japanese dance group called World Wings took the stage, bringing an incredible energy before they even started dancing. Their actual performance featured synchronized choreography and acrobatic moves set to songs by Christina Aguilera, Diana Ross and more.
Their routine had the crowd going wild, and the judges were so impressed that they gave the group a standing ovation. Simon Cowell said it was “like an explosion of energy.” Alesha Dixon remarked, “We all need that energy.” KSI bonded with one group member over their large foreheads, giving him his bandana.
When it came time for the judges to vote, the audience chanted for them to press the Golden Buzzer. Amanda Holden answered the call, sending World Wings straight into the Series 19 live shows. As she said afterward, “I did it for the audience.” Cowell joked that they would have to fire her.
Saturday night’s new episode of BGT also featured an audition from the Glantaf Boys Choir, led by former X Factor star Lloyd Macey. The group performed an emotional cover of “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman.
The show’s judges gave the choir a standing ovation, with KSI telling the boys to “be very, very proud.” Amanda Holden praised the group’s arrangement of the song, as well as their harmonizing. Simon Cowell said he “got quite emotional” listening to the performance. The choir earned four “yes” votes to move on.
Other notable auditions from this week’s new episode of BGT included one from Simon Ratzker, who cracked whips on stage with some help from Amanda Holden. Simon unfortunately received two red buzzers, meaning he couldn’t move on.
This week’s episode also featured an interesting audition from Christy Coysh, who performed a song about Scotch eggs. The judges got a kick out of the weird performance, and Christy actually received three “yes” votes to move on.
