Britain’s Got Talent contestant Matty Juniosa has reportedly landed a role on the West End after receiving two Golden Buzzers during Series 19 of the show. But first, Matty is headed to the show’s finale.
BGT Star Matty Juniosa Lands West End Role
According to The Sun, BGT Series 19 singer Matty Juniosa has landed a role in the upcoming West End production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Matty will reportedly be playing the role of Annas in the iconic musical.
“People will try to claim he’s a ‘pro’ because of the West End news, but the reality is he’s still paying his dues,” a source close to the singer told The Sun. “He’s not the lead; he’s just above the ensemble, but everybody knows it’s only a matter of time before we see him in a leading role.”
The source went on to say of Matty, “He is such a nice guy and so many people are rooting for him. He’s still a working lad trying to pay the rent, and he was literally waiting tables only weeks ago.”
The singer, who graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland last year, told The Sun, ““The experience of auditioning for BGT definitely gave me the vigor I needed to land a part in Jesus Christ Superstar. I had no idea that two dreams could come true at once.”

Matty Earned Two Golden Buzzers
Before he makes his West End debut, Matty will compete in the BGT Series 19 finale. During the Semifinals, the singer received his second Golden Buzzer of the season. In his audition, Matty’s performance of “Purple Rain” by Prince earned the honor from judge Simon Cowell.
Then last week, Matty returned to the stage to perform “Dream On” by Aerosmith. Judge Amanda Holden was so impressed that she pressed the Golden Buzzer to send the singer straight into the show’s finale.
