Asher HaVon Named The Voice Season 25 Winner

The Season 25 finale kicked off on Monday night, as the Top 5 artists performed for their final chance to earn America’s vote. Asher performed “Last Dance” by Donna Summer and “I Will Always Love You” by Dolly Parton.

It was enough to earn him the title of The Voice Season 25 winner. Host Carson Daly announced the results during Tuesday’s broadcast, revealing that Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay) came in fifth place, with Nathan Chester (Team Legend) in fourth and Bryan Olesen (Team Legend) in third.

It was then that everyone knew Reba McEntire would be the winning coach, as her artists were in the Top 2. Daly then announced that Asher HaVon was the winner, with Josh Sanders in second place. Asher broke down in tears when his name was called, and he hugged McEntire as confetti rained down.

Asher auditioned for the show with a cover of “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele, turning three chairs. The 31-year-old singer shared that he’s from Selma, Alabama. At the time, Chance the Rapper said Asher should in the whole competition. Ultimately, the singer chose to join McEntire’s team, and the rest is history.

This Is McEntire’s First Win as a Coach

This marks McEntire’s first win as a coach on The Voice. The country star joined the show last season, taking the seat formerly occupied by longtime coach Blake Shelton. She missed out on winning Season 24, which was won by Niall Horan’s artist Huntley.

During Tuesday’s finale, McEntire took the stage with Asher to perform a duet of “On My Own” by Patti LaBelle. She also joined runner-up Josh to perform her own song “Back to God.” McEntire was also part of a meaningful moment for guest performer Lainey Wilson on Tuesday’s show.

After Wilson performed “Hang Tight Honey” (off her forthcoming new album Whirlwind) during the finale, McEntire surprised her with an invitation to join the Grand Ole Opry. Wilson broke down in tears and accepted McEntire’s invitation.

McEntire will be back for Season 26, alongside returning coach Gwen Stefani, as well as new coaches Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé. That season is expected to premiere this fall, so we don’t have much longer to wait.
