Ariana Grande is rumored to be dating her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater following her split from husband Dalton Gomez. Now Slater has reportedly filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay. Meanwhile, Slater’s friends are allegedly worried Grande will break the actor’s heart.

TMZ reports that according to legal documents, Slater filed divorce papers in New York on Wednesday to end his marriage to Jay. As of now, the reason Slater listed for the divorce is unknown. He and Jay tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed a son together last year.
News of Grande and Slater’s alleged romance broke shortly after it was reported that Grande and Gomez were separated. Sources said that Grande and Slater didn’t start seeing each other until after Slater was already separated from Jay.
According to TMZ, sources close to Jay have said she’s heartbroken over Slater’s new relationship with Grande and feels like Slater abandoned his family. A source who is allegedly close to Slater and Grande responded to this.
“It’s understandable that emotions are high and it’s hard seeing your ex move on, especially in such a public way, and her friends are trying to protect her,” the source told TMZ. “But Ari and Ethan are just trying to lay low and be respectful of their exes as they pursue this new relationship.”

Slater’s Friends Are Worried About the Relationship
According to a recent report from Us Weekly, sources say Grande and Slater are “very much in love,” but Slater’s friends are “worried she’ll break his heart.” The Wicked co-stars apparently “weren’t careful” about hiding their romance during production, as they would “hold hands on set in between takes.”
The pair has not gone public with their rumored relationship. However, Slater has made his Instagram account private amid the swirling gossip about him and Grande.
Both Grande and Slater star in the upcoming two-part film adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked. Grande is playing the role of Glinda, while Slater stars as Boq. Slater is no stranger to musicals, as he was nominated for a Tony for his role as SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway.
