Ariana Grande is a True Country Boy in Audition for Blake Shelton’s Music Video

In early November, Ariana Grande made the joke that she would be the perfect person to duet with Blake Shelton. She even said that she would love to be apart of Blake Shelton’s newest song “Come Back as a Country Boy.”
Near the beginning of her time on The Voice, Jimmy Fallon pointed out how Grande recorded duets with both Kelly Clarkson and John Legend prior to her time on the series. Since she hadn’t yet worked with Shelton, he asked if that was something she would be interested in.
“I’m a little bit surprised he [Blake Shelton] hasn’t reached out yet,” Grande said. “For me to be on the remix of his most recent single titled, ‘When I Die, I Hope I Come Back as a Country Boy.’ I personally feel that I’m a perfect fit for something like that.”

During The Voice finale, Grande proved this statement to be true. On top of all of the all-star performances during the finale, NBC aired a package of Grande auditioning to be in Shelton’s newest music video. It took the format of an actual audition, but gave so much more humor.
In the package, Grande auditions by catching beers and wearing one of Shelton’s signature “American” looks. She even tries, and fails, to get a chainsaw started saying maybe it isn’t “charged,” which had Shelton nearly falling out of his chair laughing. This whole video was absolutely hilarious and proves that Grande is one to keep her word. The Voice should totally drop the full music video since they went through the hassle of filming the package.
Throughout this season, we’ve met the real Ariana Grande. Although she is extremely authentic with her personality, some people forget that she’s an actress on top of a singer. This pop star has shown her true colors throughout this season and I think Saturday Night Live needs to give her a call. Whether it be poking fun at new bestie Shelton with a joke or cracking a witty comment, Grande has show that she’s absolutely hilarious on top of talented.
