Brandon Leake brought something completely different to the America’s Got Talent stage, which led to his season 15 win. One of his most famous poems titled “Puff,” which he used for his AGT audition was recently released as an official lyric video.

Brandon Leake Releases Lyric Video for “Puff”

Leake’s moving poem about his deceased sister arguably made his AGT audition a memorable one. The emotions that come with the true story will bring any listener to tears. Fans of Leake are thankful for the release of the lyric video showing various drawings representing each word of the poem.

Leake’s sister, Danielle Marie Gibson is the person the poem is centered around. She was born in 1996 when Leake was only four years old. Due to an enlarged heart, she passed away at less than a year old. This leaves Leake with grief that he expressed through his poem.

“Your audition piece was so honest and raw, the part where you say, “I’m tired of playing God,” that really hit me,” A fan said. “I find myself thinking about what could’ve been in life, how things could’ve gone differently. But at the end of the day, I can only move on.”

The lines of his poem resonated with the listeners who knows how it feels to have lost a loved one. Even after continuously listening to it, you can still feel the emotions. That added factor is also an advantage that Leake has over his fellow competitors at AGT All-Stars.

Leake Recently Made His Stage Acting Debut at Ooley Theatre

The spoken word poet made his acting debut in the play Mississippi Motel on December 15 at Sacramento’s Ooley Theater. The play is written by Tim Foley and directed by Elise Hodge. The setting is on Christmas eve in a cheap motel in Greenville, Mississippi.

Leake’s character is a sweet-talking singer who has lost his path in the way of drugs and alcohol. As he tries to reclaim his former glory, he abandons his pregnant wife to go on tour. Unfortunately ending up dealing with addiction and being barred from the recording industry as a result of his issues.

Many of Leake‘s followers may be surprised by his portrayal of the character, as the role is his polar opposite. Leake has been married for years and has also spoken out openly against drugs and alcohol. Many people may identify with the narrative of a toxic relationship because they have experienced something similar or know someone who has.
