Brandon Leake Talks Getting Offers After ‘AGT’
Brandon posted a video on Thursday which he captioned with a story about his experience after winning America’s Got Talent. The poet shared that the day after he won, he received a phone call from a college inviting him to perform at a conference.
Brandon was excited about the offer, because he had reached out to this college in the past. However, when he asked how much the college would pay him, he was told that they had maximized their budget but “that this event would be great exposure for you.”
“It was at that moment that I knew that I would likely never do work with this person in the future,” Brandon wrote, “because I just won a nationally syndicated television show and you’re calling me because of that exposure and you’re trying to give me more of it SMH.”
Brandon ended his post by telling his followers, “Moral of the story don’t let anybody devalue you your art or what you love to do.”
