‘America’s Got Talent’ Top 10 Pull Out All the Stops in the Finals
Reading Time: 4 minutes
On Tuesday night, America’s Got Talent Season 16 returned for the Finals, as the Top 10 acts performed for their final chance to be voted this year’s winner. It’s all up to the viewers at home to choose their favorite.
Tonight’s episode proved how strong the competition is this season, as there wasn’t a weak performance in the bunch. The judges had nothing but praise for all ten performers, and one act even got Simon Cowell to stand on the desk. America has a tough decision ahead.
Voting is open until Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. ET. We’ll find out during Wednesday’s finale which act will take home the million-dollar prize and be crowned the Season 16 winner.
Jimmie Herrod Wows in the ‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale
The show opened with a performance from Sofia Vergara’s Golden Buzzer, singer Jimmie Herrod. Jimmie has a knack for putting his own unique spin on classic songs, and he certainly did that with tonight’s performance of “What a Wonderful World.”
Jimmie hit some incredible high notes, and he radiated positive energy as he performed the uplifting song. He finished the song with a long note that had the judges on their feet and the audience cheering. It’s safe to say we’ve never heard anyone quite like Jimmie on America’s Got Talent.
Howie Mandel told Jimmie that he’s “a classic,” adding that he’s “never heard a voice more pure.” Heidi Klum called him her “favorite discovery this season,” adding that he’s “worthy of a that million dollars.”
World Taekwondo Demonstration Team Go Big for the Finals
Terry Crews hit the Golden Buzzer for the World Taekwondo Demonstration Team earlier this season. They pulled out all the stops for their finale performance, showing off amazing leaps and breaking board after board in midair. A few of the team’s members even jumped over the judges’ table.
After the performance, Crews explained that they broke 200 boards and four concrete blocks. The America’s Got Talent audience went wild, and the judges couldn’t contain their excitement. Mandel declared it the best act of the night so far, while Cowell called it “bloody brilliant.” Vergara even said she wants to produce a movie about them!
Aidan Bryant Inspires Simon Cowell to Stand on the Judges’ Desk
One of the most memorable moments of the night came after 16-year-old aerialist Aidan Bryant delivered his routine. The performance was so good, it inspired Cowell to stand on top of the judges’ desk, because, as he said, “I don’t think a standing ovation was big enough.”
Aidan hung from the ceiling on a piece of fabric, showing off graceful flips and spins. At one point, he was hanging by just one ankle. The performance was made even more dramatic with the addition of pyrotechnics on the stage. It’s incredible to think that not only is Aidan still a teenager — he’s self-taught!
Not to mention, the moves Aidan is performing on stage are dangerous. Cowell summed it up when he said, “Sixteen years old. Every week you risk your life. Your creativity is off the chart. This was honestly one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen.”

Northwell Health Nurse Choir Closes the Show with an Uplifting Performance
Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer, the Northwell Health Nurse Choir, delivered an inspiring performance to close out the night. The group of healthcare professionals came together to sing “Stand by You” by Rachel Platten. It was a nice way to bring things full circle, considering their audition song was a mashup of “Stand by Me” and “Lean on Me.”
The group wore matching red scrubs for the performance, and their voices came together to form a powerful whole. After they sang, Cowell said this would be a “night I will never forget,” adding that “everyone tonight has been amazing.”
Now it’s up to America to decide which act should be named the Season 16 America’s Got Talent winner. Don’t forget to vote, and tune in Wednesday night on NBC to find out who wins. Let us know in the comments which act you’ll be rooting for.
