“How long must I wander? / How long must I wait? / How long must I wander? / Is it too far? / Am I just too late? / For a promised land,” Hale sings in the inspiring new song.
In her “song story” video, Hale explains that she’s felt discouraged in the past about not reaching her dream of becoming a singer. Her feelings inspired the song “Promised Land,” co-written with Vince Scheuerman.

Hale said she wrote the song “to keep me moving forward, despite hardship, despite doubt, despite discouragement.” She added that the song is for anyone who has felt similarly about reaching their goals.
The singer told CCM magazine that she was inspired by Exodus 32, explaining, “Abraham lived in the desert. Each day he saw sand, and each night he saw stars. I love how God gave Abraham a tangible vision to accompany the promise God spoke to him.”
