Jill O'Rourke | Talent Recap

The Season 17 winner of American Idol will be crowned this Sunday night. But the amazing performances won’t end as soon as the credits roll. The show’s winner and runner-up will both perform on Live with Kelly and Ryan next week.

This season’s winner will appear on the ABC talk show (hosted by Kelly Ripa and American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest) this Monday, May 20. The runner-up will also get a chance to perform on the show a day later, on Tuesday, May 21. You can check the show’s website to find out what time to watch in your area.

Kelly and Ryan will also be hosting another contestant from American Idol this upcoming week. The show recently announced that it’s bringing back “Live’s ‘American Idol’ Encore,” a competition in which fans can choose their favorite of the Top 10 to perform again on TV.

Starting Monday, fans will be able to vote on the show’s website for which eliminated singer they want to see perform on Live next Thursday, May 23. Last season, fans chose Cade Foehner to return. We can’t wait to see who wins this year’s vote.

This Sunday’s finale promises to be a jam-packed night. Not only will we learn whether Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy, or Madison VanDenburg is the new American Idol, but we’ll also get to watch plenty of awesome performances.

Judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie will perform with contestants, while past Idol favorites Adam Lambert and Carrie Underwood will return to the show. Other big names include Dan + Shay and Montell Jordan, as well as a surprise Grammy winner who will perform with Top 40 contestant Shayy.

The finale airs this live Sunday, May 19, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on ABC. Be sure to vote in our poll for who you think should be named the winner.
