‘American Idol’ Fans Can Redeem Their Top 10 Favorite On ‘Live With Kelly & Ryan’ — Here’s How It Works

Jill O'Rourke | Talent Recap

American Idol is down to the Top 3, but that doesn’t mean you’ll never see your favorite eliminated contestants again. In fact, host Ryan Seacrest is giving fans an opportunity to bring one of the artists back for an encore.

Ryan’s show with Kelly Ripa, Live with Kelly and Ryan, is bringing back a competition called “Live’s ‘American Idol’ Encore.” Fans can vote in a poll for which eliminated singer from the Top 10 they want to see perform on television again. Last year, Cade Foehner won the vote, and performed “No Good” by Kaleo on Kelly and Ryan’s show.

The hosts announced the contest on this morning’s show. According to a press release, the poll will be available May 20, the day after the season finale, on Kelly and Ryan’s website. The winning singer will then travel to New York City to perform live on the show on Thursday, May 23.

It may not be as exciting as your favorite returning to compete again, but it will give the winning contestant a second chance to show off their talent. There may be people watching Kelly and Ryan who didn’t watch American Idol this season, so they might even gain a few new fans.

In case you need a refresher in which contestants were part of the Top 10, check out the list below. Obviously, whoever wins the entire show will not be eligible for the encore.

Alejandro Aranda
Laci Kaye Booth
Walker Burroughs
Wade Cota
Dimitrius Graham
Laine Hardy
Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon
Alyssa Raghu
Madison VanDenburg

It will be interesting to see which of the contestants viewers choose to return. And it may not necessarily be the second-place singer, since Cade was eliminated in the Top 5 last year.

Check back on KellyanRyan.com May 20 for the poll. In the meantime, you can take our poll to share who you think should win this season of American Idol.
