American Idol Renewed for Season 22 on ABC
Variety reports that American Idol is one of nine shows that were recently renewed on ABC. This will be the show’s seventh season on ABC, and the 22nd season overall. According to Variety, Idol is ABC’s No. 1 series this season in total viewers.
The show’s official Instagram account shared the renewal news on Tuesday morning, writing, “Get ready to sing along with us for another season!” Fans made sure to voice their opinions on what the show should change moving forward.
User @riptide42 requested that the show go back to overnight voting, with one singer being eliminated at a time instead of several at once. Meanwhile, other users requested that the show change up the judging panel.
Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan have been judges on the show since it moved to ABC. Is it time to change things up, or will the same panel return for Season 22?
