‘American Idol’ Garbage Man Doug Kiker Arrested for Domestic Violence Incident

Doug Kiker stole the nation’s hearts and brought Katy Perry to tears when he auditioned for Season 18 of American Idol last year. Everyone had high hopes for the garbage man and have been eagerly waiting to see what he would do next. He is now in police custody in Alabama after his involvement in a domestic violence incident according to TMZ.
Season 18 ‘American Idol’ Contestant Doug Kiker Arrested After Domestic Violence Incident
Doug was arrested on Thursday, May 13 for misdemeanor domestic violence. This is also known as harrassment. He is currently in jail on a $1,000 bond. On Thursday night, police officers responded to a domestic violence call made by an unnamed adult woman.
It is not clear the relationship the pair have with each other. At the scene, police determined a cause for arrest and Doug was later booked by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Department.
American Idol viewers last saw Doug virtually during the Season 18 finale when he performed with Rascal Flatts and showed off a set of new teeth. He had been eliminated during Hollywood Week but all of the judges were impressed with his desire to compete for a better life for his daughter. He auditioned with a Rascal Flatts song prompting the band to perform with him at the finale.
Since appearing on American Idol, Doug and his partner welcomed another baby girl. Doug has also been trying to find his footing working on music but has been known to take frequent hiatuses from social media. His last social media post was about doing a performance in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi in mid-April.
Doug’s arrest comes after Season 19 contestant Cecil Ray was arrested in mid-April and charged with burglary of a habitation. Cecil had already been eliminated from the competition when the news broke.
