During Monday night’s new episode of American Idol Season 24, the show’s former judge Randy Jackson served as a guest mentor, helping the Top 5 singers prepare for their performances. Some fans online expressed concern about Jackson’s appearance.

American Idol Fans Concerned About Randy Jackson

Several fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to comment on Jackson’s appearance during Monday night’s new episode of American Idol. One person wrote, “Randy Jackson does not look well.” Another viewer posted, “Is Randy Jackson ok? Looks and sounds so weak.”

“I know Randy Jackson had gastric bypass, but what is wrong with him to look so ill?” wrote another X user. Someone else posted, “Randy Jackson is only 69 years old, why is he having trouble speaking? Is he perhaps losing too much weight, or maybe he’s sick tonight?”

A user on the show’s Reddit also brought up Jackson’s appearance, asking, “Randy are you ok?” Another user replied to the thread by writing, “He looks frail and can he not walk? Sitting in chair when meeting everyone.”

Jackson’s Health Issues Are Unclear

TV Insider points out that Jackson was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2002 and later lost over 100 pounds after undergoing gastric bypass surgery. The former American Idol judge also reportedly had back surgery in 2019.

Any health issues Jackson might be facing beyond that are unclear. However, it’s not the first time that fans have been concerned about him. A Reddit user wrote that they’ve watched him on Name That Tune for years and thought he looked “super sick.”

Jackson wasn’t the only former Idol judge to appear on Monday’s episode of the show. His co-star Paula Abdul sat on the panel as a guest judge, providing her thoughts on the contestants’ performances.
