American Idol Online Auditions Open Now

Before you get the chance to audition in front of the show’s judges, you need to sign up on the American Idol website and submit an online audition to be viewed by producers. Keep in mind that you must be at least 15 years old, and you must re-register every new season.

Also keep in mind that you can only submit one audition video per season, so make it count. According to the FAQs, singers are allows to perform original songs or existing songs, and you can feature any part of the song you want.

You can also sign up to receive Audition Alerts about the upcoming Idol Across America Virtual Auditions. Unlike audition videos, which can be submitted any time, these auditions are scheduled and will likely take place over Zoom. You may attend a virtual audition and submit an online audition.

The Show Was Renewed for Season 22

Earlier this month, it was announced that American Idol would be returning for Season 22. This will be the show’s seventh season on ABC since it made the move from its former home on FOX. It’s not clear yet whether the show’s panel (Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan) will be returning.

A recent report suggested that Perry wants to quit the show due to the backlash she’s received from fans. A source said that Perry has “wanted out for some time now, but this season was way too much for her to handle.”

Perry herself recently said she’s “getting a little FOMO after all these years,” but added of her potential return to the panel next year, “I hope so. We’ll see.”
