Reading Time: 2 minutes
Singer Colin Stough recently placed third on American Idol Season 21, but his time on television isn’t over. Stough was recently named the winner of Live with Kelly and Mark‘s American Idol Encore contest. Although the singer announced his victory a little early, the official announcement was made on Wednesday.
Colin Stough Wins American Idol Encore Contest
Every year Live allows fans at home to vote for which American Idol contestant they want to see perform on the show. This year, viewers got to choose between Colin Stough, Wé Ani, Zachariah Smith, Warren Peay, Haven Madison, and Oliver Steele.
Fans ultimately voted to send Stough to New York City. According to Heavy, Colin revealed the news on Instagram Tuesday — before the official announcement had been made. In an Instagram story, he told fans, “I got the call!”
The video was quickly deleted, but Live announced that Stough was the winner during Wednesday’s show. Fans can watch his performance next Tuesday, May 30. He’ll be singing his single “I Still Talk to Jesus.”

Megan Danielle Is Also Performing on the Show
Season 21 runner-up Megan Danielle wasn’t one of the six contestants up for the Encore contest, but she’ll still be performing on Live. The singer will reportedly appear on the show on Thursday, May 25, to perform her single “Dream Girl.”
This year’s winner Iam Tongi appeared on the show earlier this week. He chatted with the hosts and performed his own single “I’ll Be Seeing You.” During the interview, he said he would have been happy for Danielle if she had won, calling her a “good friend.”
