American Idol Season 19 finalist Grace Kinstler recently shared some exciting news with fans on Instagram. The 24-year-old singer is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Joseph Wheatley.

American Idol‘s Grace Kinstler Announces Engagement

On Sunday, Grace Kinstler took to Instagram to share a series of photos with her fiancé Joseph Wheatley, announcing their engagement. The couple can be seen kissing as Kinstler shows off her diamond ring. In another shot, Wheatley gets down on one knee by the water.

The romantic photos were taken at Boston Public Garden by photographer Alex Gordias. The couple sports coordinating outfits in the pictures, as Kinstler wears a black and beige dress while Wheatley dons a beige polo shirt.

“07.31.2026 Forever best friends,” Kinstler wrote in the post’s caption, along with a diamond ring emoji. The couple celebrated six years together last November. According to TV Insider, Wheatley works in real estate in Austin, Texas, and he also posts beatboxing videos on TikTok.

Kinstler competed on American Idol Season 19 in 2021, finishing the competition in third place behind winner Chayce Beckham and the late Willie Spence. Since then, Kinstler has released an EP called Lavender along with several singles.

Kinstler Just Released a New Single

On July 31, the same day Wheatley apparently proposed to Kinstler, the singer released a new single titled “My Name’s on You.” The soulful track shows off the powerhouse voice that took Kinstler so far on American Idol.

When sharing her engagement post on Instagram stories, Kinstler included audio of her single “Water,” which was released in 2024. Since then, she’s also released the songs “Human Too,” “OZONE,” and “Illusions.”
