Britain’s Got Talent Series 18 returned over the weekend for more auditions, including one from singer Stacey Leadbeatter. Her performance of “Run” by Leona Lewis earned a Golden Buzzer from guest judge KSI.
Singer Earns KSI’s Golden Buzzer on BGT Series 18
Stacey introduced herself to the judges during the most recent episode, sharing that her 10-year-old daughter is a fan of the show and also of guest judge KSI, who was there to fill in for regular panelist Bruno Tonioli. The 29-year-old also shared that she usually works at a supermarket.
She went on to tell the judges that she would be singing for them, explaining that she’s only ever performed “in a pub” before her audition. Stacey delivered a gorgeous rendition of “Run” by Leona Lewis, showing off a powerhouse voice that had the crowd cheering.
The audience reaction made Stacey emotional as she finished the song. The crowd went on to chant for the judges to press the Golden Buzzer, which would sent Stacey straight to the Semifinals. They continued to chant as judge Amanda Holden praised Stacey’s performance as “amazing.”
“Fine, I’ll do it!” KSI said after listening to the chants, as he stood up to press the Golden Buzzer. He got up on stage to hug Stacey and told her, “The pub are lucky to have you.”
After KSI pressed the Golden Buzzer, Simon Cowell shared his thoughts on Stacey’s performance, telling her, “That’s a really difficult song to sing. And you absolutely nailed it. The audience just fell in love with you. They did that because you’re really good.”
Cowell told Stacey that he hoped this experience would give her “a confidence lift” going forward, adding that she shouldn’t doubt herself. KSI told her, “The voice that came out of your mouth, I was in awe. I had to press that Golden Buzzer. Absolutely smashed it, Stacey.”
