Earlier this week, Keys shared a TikTok video in which she duets with a clip of Duru singing her iconic track “No One.” Duru, who has over a million TikTok followers, posted the clip for other users to sing with her on their own accounts.
“Fresh off tour and singing while I’m making something to eat!!” Keys captioned her video, adding fire emojis to describe Duru and saying she loved singing the song with her. The pair sounded amazing together, even though they weren’t even in the same room.
Duru reacted to the moment on her own account, writing, “NOT ALICIA KEYS ON MY DUET.” She also took the opportunity to promote her upcoming new song “Boogie,” which is available to pre-save now.

Duru Competed on The Voice, American Idol
Duru isn’t just a fan of Alicia Keys. She also happens to have competed on The Voice in Season 3 of the show in 2012, making it to the Battles round on coach Adam Levine’s team at just 15 years old. This was before Keys was a coach on the show.
In 2015, Duru auditioned for Season 14 of American Idol. Although she wasn’t voted into the Top 12, she was chosen as a wildcard. Duru ended up jointly placing 10th and 11th place with fellow contestant Maddie Walker. She returned for the season finale to perform with Janelle Monáe and Jidenna.
Duru has released a mixtape called Exhibit A and an EP called Stardive. She also collaborated with Postmodern Jukebox in 2019 on a soul version of “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon.
