Clarkson introduced Milligan’s performance by reminding viewers that he played Elvis Presley in the CMT series Sun Records, before finishing AGT in third place last year. She also mentioned his album, calling Dallas/Fort Worth “a great album title.”
The 24-year-old singer showed plenty of personality during his performance of “Sounds Like Something I’d Do,” making eye contact with the camera and interacting with members of the band. He even showed off a few Elvis-inspired hip swings.
Commenters on the YouTube video of Milligan’s performance are full of praise, with one user writing that the singer is a “super amazing artist” who “always lights a stage on fire.” Someone else commented, “What an amazing voice and presentation.”
However, some fans were disappointed that Clarkson didn’t take time during the show to interview Milligan, especially since they’re both from the Dallas-Forth Worth area of Texas. Still, she encouraged people to listen to his album.
